GRAVES CAPTURES 2001 MASTERTON TROPHY!
An award presented to the player who means as much to his team on the ice as he does to his family and community off it, New York Rangers forward Adam Graves received the 2001 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. Graves received the award on 6/14/01 at the NHL Awards Show in Toronto, presented annually to the NHL player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey as voted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
"I obviously owe the entire Rangers organization, my teammates, the city of New York and, of course, the fans," noted Graves. "Life can teach you as much about hockey as hockey can teach you about life.
I accept this award in honor of my father and I say that proudly."
My Notes about this:
Ten day later he is out of NY. We trade him ?? This still boggles my mind. This man will ALWAYS have the heart of New York no matter where he lives. WTG Sather, great PR move on your part :p
